India's veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is known for his epic replies. Whether Ashwin is on social media or in front of the camera, his choice of words is always unique. Recently, he gave an epic reply to a fan who asked for Rohit Sharma to be in Royal Challengers Bengaluru from the next season.

In a video from Ravichandran Ashwin's Hindi YouTube channel 'Ash ki baat', an RCB fan claimed that he would go full throttle for Rohit Sharma if he is at the auction table. The fan was thrilled by the imagination of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing together for RCB.

The fan even called for Rohit Sharma to be RCB's captain if he gets signed by the franchise. He further noted that the decibel levels at the Chinnaswamy would go to a different level if these two Indian legends opened together.

But Ravichandran Ashwin came up with an epic reply. Ashwin claimed that the franchise needs to save INR 20 crore if it wants to sign Rohit Sharma. "Agar Rohit Sharma ke liye aap jaa rahe hai to 20 crore rakhna padega (You need to keep 20 crores with yourself if you want to sign up Rohit Sharma).

It is to be noted that Virat Kohli has been playing for RCB since the start of his IPL career and is likely to be the first player to be retained by the franchise this season. If RCB manage to sign Rohit, the fans can witness the epic opening combo of Rohit and Kohli opening together for RCB.

Will Mumbai Indians retain Rohit Sharma?

However, it is yet not clear whether Rohit Sharma will be retained by Mumbai Indians for the next IPL season or not. He is a talismanic player for the franchise but his retention is not yet confirmed. Even if Rohit is not retained by MI, the franchise can still get him back through an RTM card.

According to the rules, every franchise is allowed to retain a maximum of six players with one of them being the uncapped player. A maximum of two uncapped players can be retained by a franchise. The final date for the submission of the retained players list for all the franchises is October 31.

Mumbai Indians expected list of retained players

With several marquee players like Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya already in MI, it remains to be seen whether they retain Rohit or not. Sharma's record for Mumbai Indians has been prolific as he has led the franchise to a record five IPL titles.

However, the franchise decided to replace him as captain with Hardik Pandya last season. The season turned out to be among their worst ones as they finished last in the points table.
