In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is all set to resume from 18th May. The situation will be monitored, and if everything stays good, the league is all set for a quick resumption.
The IPL 2025 was jolted in mid-way due to the tensions between India and Pakistan. The two nations were engaged in a war-type situation as they fired drones, missiles, and bullets, and an emergency was declared on both sides.
This also saw the cricket taking a hit as well. In India, the IPL 2025 was postponed, while in Pakistan, the Pakistan Super League (PSL), along with other domestic tournaments, were suspended. Also, the overseas players in both leagues rushed back to their home.
Coming to the IPL 2025, the league was suspended for one week, and it came after the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals got called off in the middle of the first innings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Following that, BCCI had no option but to postpone.

However, now, with both India and Pakistan agreeing to a ceasefire, it is learned that the BCCI is keen to resume the tournament.
A top official of the governing body said that they will review the situation and make a decision accordingly. Speaking to RevSportz, he said:
"We will review the situation today before taking a decision."

On the other hand, one of the franchise officials revealed that BCCI, behind the scenes, has told the teams that they want to resume the league as soon as possible. He revealed that May 17 or 18 (18th most likely) could be the tentative resumption date.
"Nothing official, but there’s some back-channel chat that they (BCCI) want to start as soon as possible,” said a franchise official.
There were also reports of the rest of the IPL 2025 to be played in South India. After the league was suspended, the BCCI official said that it is a possibility they will have to see how the situation unfolds. He said:
“Holding the remainder of the IPL in the eastern and southern parts (Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai) remains an option, but we have to see how the situation unfolds,” he had said.
On the other hand, the reports in the Indian Express said that BCCI has asked all IPL teams, except Punjab Kings, to report to their respective venues by Tuesday. It is learned that the governing body has verbally informed the franchises that they will resume the league soon, and travel plans have been shared, too.

The source close to BCCI said that all the teams have been informed to reach their destinations by Tuesday for IPL 2025. He also said that Punjab Kings will have a new venue, and their destination will be confirmed soon. The BCCI is also planning to host more doubleheaders to wrap up the competition quickly. He said:
“All franchises have been told to inform their team to report to their respective destination by Tuesday. Punjab will have a neutral venue, so their destination is yet to be confirmed. The board is planning to have more double headers so that they can finish the IPL as per its scheduled day,” a source in the Indian board confirmed.
