Former India cricketer Pragyan Ojha shared his verdict on whether Rohit Sharma should leave Mumbai Indians ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that the senior batter shouldn't move to any other team, and if he moves, it will be a very emotional moment.

The future of India captain Rohit Sharma with the Mumbai Indians seems to be bleak. There have been various reports that have suggested that the opening batter will be ending his association with the five-time IPL champions and will be moving to a new team in the IPL 2025.

This is because Mumbai Indians didn't treat Rohit well in the last edition of the tournament. The India captain, who guided the franchise for the 5 titles in the league, was removed as the leader of the team, with the side making Hardik Pandya the leader of the team.

There were reports that Rohit was unhappy with the way he was removed as the captain and the batter will be entering the auction. But so far, there hasn't been any clarity, and many experts and fans have shared their verdict on the same, and the latest to join the bandwagon is Pragyan Ojha.

Pragyan Ojha believes that Rohit Sharma is an integral part of the Mumbai Indians, and he doesn't feel that the franchise will let the batter go. But he added that the batter can move to some other franchise as well as a part of a professional point of view. Speaking to InsideSport, he explained:

"As far as I know, he's, he's, he's a very, very integral part of Mumbai Indians. I don't know if that will be that easy for them to let Rohit go and the other way around also, it will be very, very emotional for Rohit. But when you talk about IPL, when you talk about this format, and when you talk about auction.

"So I think we're looking from a professional point of view as a professional. So sometimes you get to decide sometimes it's on the table. So it's very difficult, but I think it will be very emotional, it won't be easy. If that happens."

Personally, I would say Rohit Sharma continues to play for Mumbai Indians - Pragyan Ojha

Pragyan Ojha doesn't want Rohit Sharma to leave Mumbai Indians as he feels that the batter has made a massive contribution to the franchise. But he isn't sure if that happens because anything can happen in franchise cricket. He added:

"Personally, I would say Rohit should continue to play for Mumbai Indians because the contribution that he's got and he's grown as a captain, as a player, the stature that he is in today, it's, it's somewhere connected to Mumbai Indians.

"So I would say if he stays there, well and good. But if he moves on, that's how it is. Because this, this is a franchisee tournament and sometimes these things happen," he concluded.

With the way Rohit Sharma was removed as the captain of Mumbai Indians, it remains to be seen if the senior batter will continue playing for the franchise or not.
