IPL 2021 kick-starts on April 9, 2021 and will entertain Indian cricket fans for over two months. Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Mumbai Indians in the first match of IPL 2021 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. A total of 8 teams are part of IPL 2021. The tournament will be played at 6 venues across the country. The matches will be played under closed doors due to COVID-19 concerns.

IPL 2021 is the 14th edition of the tournament. In IPL 2019, Mumbai Indians became the first team to win four IPL titles. The Rohit Sharma-led team defeated Chennai Super Kings in an epic final to lift the trophy for the 4th time. The CSK vs Mumbai IPL 2019 final match was a thrilling match. Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders match at Arun Jaitley Stadium was a tied game. KKR batted first in the match and with half-centuries by Andre Russell (62) and Dinesh Karthik (50), KKR scored 185-8. Batting second, Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Played a fabulous innings of 99 runs off 55 balls. Shreyas Iyer also scored 43 runs. Delhi Capitals needed 6 runs off the final over but Umesh Yadav bowled brilliantly and gave only 5 runs. The match ended in a tie and went to the super over.

In the super over, Prasidh Krishna bowled for Kolkata Knight Riders. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer came out to bat for Delhi Capitals. Prasidh Krishna gave away 10 runs while dismissing Shreyas Iyer. Kasigo Rabada bowled the super over for Delhi Capitals. Russell smashed a four off the 1st ball but Rabada dismissed him on the 3rd ball. Rabada only gave away 7 runs in the over and Delhi Capitals won in the super over.

Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai)

Mumbai Indians’ home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2019 was another game that ended in a tie. Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 162-5 with a half-century by Quinton de Kock (69). Later, Manish Pandey played a stupendous knock of unbeaten 71 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the final over, Hardik Pandya needed to defend 17 runs. On the final ball, Hyderabad needed 7 runs to win and Manish Pandey hit a six.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled the super over for Mumbai Indians. While Manish Pandey was run-out on the 1st ball, Mohamad Nabi got bowled on the 4th ball. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 8-2 in super over. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rashid Khan came out to bowl the super over with Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard on the crease. Hardik Pandya smashed a six off the first ball and with a single and a double on the next two deliveries, Mumbai Indians managed to win the match in the super over.

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings final match in IPL 2019 was one of the most nail-biting final matches ever. In the low-scoring match, Mumbai Indians scored 149-8 while batting first. Kieron Pollard scored 41 runs which emerged as a very crucial knock for the team. Batting second, all the CSK batsmen got out cheaply except for Shane Watson who scored 80 runs.

The match went to the final over when Chennai Super Kings needed 6 runs. Clever bowling by Lasith Malinga took the match to the final ball when Chennai Super Kings needed 2 runs to win. However, Malinga dismissed Shardul Thakur by LBW and Mumbai Indians won the match by just 1 run. Malinga became the star of the match with his epic final ball.
