IPL auction 2021 witnessed 292 players going under the hammer, out of which, 57 cricketers were bought by the eight franchises. Out of these 57 players, 35 were Indian players while 22 were from overseas. The eight franchises namely Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings spent a total of Rs. 145.30 crore to choose their favourite players.

There were 235 players who were part of the auction but could not find a buyer. Mohit Sharma has been part of the Indian Premier Leagues since 2013. Sharma, who has also represented the Indian team at the international level, went unsold at his base price of Rs. 50 lakh. With his experience of 86 matches in IPL, he should have found a buyer in IPL auction 2021.

The right-arm pacer played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from IPL 2013 to 2015. He later shifted to Kings XI Punjab from IPL 2016 to IPL 2018. In 2019, he was again picked up by CSK. Delhi Capitals bought him in IPL 2020. Mohit Sharma has taken 92 wickets in his IPL career so far. He will be absent from IPL 2021 as no franchises showed interest in the bowler in IPL auction 2021.

Varun Aaron has played in every IPL season since 2011, except for the 2013 edition. The Indian pacer had a reserve price of Rs. 50 lakh but no franchise showed interest in the bowler. The right-arm fast bowler has played for teams like Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian premier league.

Aaron has been part of 50 IPL matches so far in which he grabbed 42 wickets. With a mere price of Rs. 50 lakh, the 31-year-old should have found a buyer but franchises chose otherwise.

The 27-year-old batsman had Rs. 1 crore base price in IPL auction 2021, however, no franchise showed any interest in picking him.

Hanuma Vihari has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2013 and 2015. In IPL 2019, the right-handed batsman played for Delhi Capitals. Vihari accounts for 284 runs in 24 games in his IPL career. He will be absent from IPL 2021 as he went unsold in IPL auction 2021.
