Rajasthan Royals pacer Trent Boult wants his franchise to sign an Australian player during IPL 2024 auction. Interestingly, the Kiwi pacer has not named Aussie giants like Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc. Trent Boult wants Rajasthan Royals to bid for Josh Inglis during the auction.

Josh Inglis is a wicketkeeper batsman from Australia. He was also part of the Australian team that won the ICC World Cup 2023. After the tournament, the right-handed batsman participated in the India vs Australia T20I series. He shattered a century in the opening T20I game.

Trent Boults Names Three Players That Rajasthan Royals Should Pick

On their official account on X, Rajasthan Royals shared a video in which they asked Trent Boult about three players he feels his franchise would bid for. Trent Boult named one Australian player and two New Zealand players. Other than Josh Inglis, Boult also wants RR to sign Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra.

“There’s a lot of players but my first one is going to be Daryl Mitchell. Another one is Rachin Ravindra. The third one is going to be an Aussie Josh Inglis”, Boult said. Have a look at the video below.

Notably, Daryl Mitchell was also part of Rajasthan Royals in previous editions. The right-handed batsman showcased a marvelous performance against India in ICC World Cup 2023. Mitchell shattered centuries against India during both clashes in the tournament.

Daryl Mitchell was another impressive Kiwi player in the World Cup. The left-handed batsman smacked 3 centuries and 4 half-centuries during the tournament. He will participate in the auction for the first time. Josh Inglis has a base price of Rs. 2 crore in the IPL 2024 auction. Daryl Mitchell has a base price of Rs. 1 crore. Rachin Ravindra has a base price of Rs. 50 lakh.

RR Traded Devdutt Padikkal To LSG

Trent Boult has named all three middle-order batters in his list. This makes sense as Rajasthan Royals need some strength in the middle-order. The IPL 2008 champions have already traded Devdutt Padikkal to Lucknow Super Giants ahead of IPL 2024 auction. Hence, they need more support in the middle order.

Rajasthan Royals has a strong set of openers with Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. They also have a powerful spin department with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Adam Zampa. For pacers, they have Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini, and Avesh Khan. RR grabbed Avesh Khan from LSG through a trade.

Rajasthan Royals Have Rs. 14.50 Crore For IPL 2024 Auction

Notably, Rajasthan Royals is among the teams with the lowest funds in IPL 2024 auction. LSG is the only team that has fewer funds than RR with Rs. 13.15 crore. Gujarat Titans is the franchise with the most funds at Rs. 38.15 crore.
