On Friday, November 15, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Player Auction List was officially announced by the governing body.

A total of 574 players have been shortlisted to go under the hammer at the IPL Auction 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.

A total of 1574 players had originally registered for the IPL Auction 2025

Originally, a total of 1574 players had registered for the IPL Auction 2025, out of which 1,165 were Indians, and 409 were overseas. The list featured 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations.

Meanwhile, the governing body has now trimmed down the list, and now a total of 574 players will be featured in the auction. There are 366 Indians, 208 overseas players, and 3 players from association nations that will be going under the hammer. Talking further about the breakdown of 574 players, 318 are Indian uncapped players and 12 are uncapped overseas players.

Although 574 players will be featured in the auction, only 204 could be sold as the 10 teams only have 204 slots open, including 70 slots for overseas players.

In the Indian Premier League 2025, the marquee set has been split in two with a total of 12 players featuring in the list. Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Kagiso Rabada, and Arshdeep Singh will start the proceedings along with Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammad Siraj.

Talking about the notable absentees, the star England pacer Jofra Archer and the young Australia all-rounder Cameron Green don't feature in the auction list.

The oldest player in the auction is James Anderson (42-year-old) and the youngest player is Vaibhav Suryavanshi (13-year-old), with both the players eyeing their first-ever contract in the Indian Premier League.

Ahead of the IPL Auction 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have retained most number of players (6) and will have no RTMs to use at the auction.

Punjab Kings, who retained just two uncapped players, will have 4 RTMs in their kitty while Royal Challengers Bengaluru will have three, and Delhi Capitals two. Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians will have only one RTM each in their bag.
