Australia captain Pat Cummins discussed the highly anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25). Pat Cummins stated that the upcoming IPL mega auction wouldn’t be a distraction for the Australian players during the series opener.

The mega auction will take place on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Cummins is among five players retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the IPL 2025 season. The 2016 IPL champions also secured the services of Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Don't Think It'll Be A Distraction - Pat Cummins

During the press conference, Pat Cummins was asked about the IPL auction being a distraction for the BGT series opener. Cummins said that most players are experienced with the auction process and will handle it as part of their routine without letting it distract them from their preparations.

"For the players, don't think it'll be a distraction. Most of them have been in auction before so it's about going about the business as usual," Pat Cummins said.

Pat Cummins will lead the Australia team in the five-match Test series against India. The hosts will be hoping to secure a victory against India in a bilateral series since the 2014-15 series win. It is worth mentioning that Cummins, who debuted in 2011, is yet to win a Border-Gavaskar Trophy in his career.
