The IPL 2026 auction pool has been updated at the last moment, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) adding 19 players to the list following requests from franchises. The update was made just a day before the auction is set to take place in Abu Dhabi, increasing the total number of available players to 369.

Franchises will assemble their squads at the auction. With 77 spots available, including 31 for overseas players, teams can strengthen for the upcoming season. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will head into the auction with the biggest task, needing to fill 13 slots, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with 10 vacancies.

Abhimanyu Easwaran Among 19 Late Additions to IPL 2026 Auction List

The last-minute expansion of the IPL 2026 auction list has drawn attention across the league. According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI included 19 new players, making it rare to see such a large number of late additions in the history of the event.

Among the new names, Abhimanyu Easwaran is the most notable inclusion. The Bengal captain will enter the auction at a base price of ₹30 lakh. He has gone unsold in previous IPL auctions, but his recent form has sparked renewed interest.

Easwaran impressed with his batting in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he scored an unbeaten century against Punjab. His improved attacking game in domestic T20 cricket appears to have played a key role in earning him another chance at the IPL auction.

Kyle Verreynne, Ben Sears Among Overseas Players Added to IPL 2026 Auction List

South African wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne is among the notable names. New Zealand fast bowler Ben Sears, South Africa all-rounder Ethan Bosch, Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani, Australian all-rounder Chris Green, and Malaysia international Virandeep Singh are among the other players added to the list.

A large group of Indian domestic players has also been added to the auction pool. These players come from different states such as Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. All of them have been listed at a base price of ₹30 lakh.

Some of these players, including Manisankar Murasingh, Swastik Chikara, and Ethan Bosch, were briefly included in the auction list earlier but were later removed. They have now been brought back after franchises requested their inclusion.

With these additions, the auction register now has 369 players in total. Franchises will be able to bid for up to 77 players at the auction if all teams decide to complete their full 25-player squads.
