Punjab Kings (PBKS), on Sunday (December 3), brutally trolled Pakistan star Shaheen Afridi after Arshdeep Singh’s impressive performance against Australia in the fifth and final T20I. The final match of the series took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

India had already sealed the series by winning three of the first four games and finished the series on a high by winning the fifth match. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side successfully defended 160 runs in Bengaluru. Asked to bat first, India scored 160 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs.

They were reeling at 97 for 5 at one stage and the 150-run mark was looking like a distant dream. However, Shreyas Iyer scored a fighting fifty to help India post a challenging total. The right-handed batsman scored 53 off 37 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes. In reply, Australia finished their innings on 154/8.

Punjab Kings troll Shaheen Afridi:

Soon after the game ended, Punjab Kings decided to have some fun at the expense of Shaheen Afridi. Australia needed 10 runs from the final over with their captain Matthew Wade still at the crease. The onus was on Arshdeep Singh to defend the runs in the final over.

In his first three overs, the Punjab pacer had conceded 37 runs, and defending just 9 runs in the final over was a tough task. However, he once again showed his impressive ability to bowl well in death overs and conceded just 3 runs to help India clinch a thriller.

He began the over by bowling two dot deliveries before dismissing Wade. On the last three deliveries, he conceded three singles to restrict Australia to 154. And soon after the game ended, PBKS took a subtle swipe at Shaheen Afridi. During the 2021 T20 World Cup semifinal, the left-arm pacer from Pakistan was taken to the cleaners by Wade.

The wicketkeeper-batsman hit Shaheen Afridi for three consecutive sixes in the 19th over to snatch a thrilling win for his side. PBKS shared a video of Arshdeep dismissing Wade on the social media platform X and wrote: “Not against this left-arm pacer, Matthew Wade.”
