The IPL 2025 saw DC vs LSG taking place at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Monday (24th March). It was a nail-biter that went down the wire and saw the Axar Patel-led side starting their campaign on a high note.

Asked to bat, Lucknow Super Giants lost Aiden Markram (15) early, but it was Mitchell Marsh (72) and Nicholas Pooran (75) who stole the limelight with their brutal power-hitting. The Marsh-Pooran duo added 87 runs for the second wicket as it rained four and sixes till the time they were batting.

But after that, Delhi Capitals made a strong comeback as they picked wickets at regular intervals to curb the run flow. David Miller (27*) played a vital hand as Lucknow posted a total of 208 for eight. For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of two for 20, while Mitchell Starc picked up three wickets.

It was a nightmare of a start for Delhi Capitals as Shardul Thakur picked two wickets in the first over, and then M Siddharth also chipped in to leave the opposition at seven for three. With the team under pressure, Faf du Plessis (29) and captain Axar Patel (22) steadied the ship with their 43-run stand.

But both the batters lost their wickets in quick succession as Delhi Capitals was left tottering at 65 for five. Tristan Stubbs (34) and Ashutosh Sharma (66*) then brought their team back into the game with their 48-run stand. Debutant Vipraj Nigam (39) also played a vital hand and provided great support to Ashutosh as the duo added 55 runs together.

But the limelight was stolen by Ashutosh Sharma. The right-hander came as an impact player, played an unbelievable innings, and took his team home from the jaws of defeat. Delhi Capitals won the game with just one wicket and three balls to spare.

After DC vs LSG, Match 4, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained their top stop at the table. Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings are second and third, respectively, while Delhi Capitals climbed fourth on the table.

After DC vs LSG, Match 4, Ishan Kishan is leading the orange cap charts. While Lucknow Super Giants duo Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh bagged 2nd and 3rd spot. Dhruv Jurel and Travis Head were pushed down.

There wasn't much change in the purple Cap charts after DC vs LSG, Match 4. Noor Ahmad is at the top, followed by Khaleel Ahmed, Krunal Pandya, and Vignesh Puthur. Mitchell Starc, after his three wickets, moved on 5th spot.
