IPL Points Table 2025: Orange Cap, Purple Cap List After GT vs PBKS, Match 5

GT vs PBKS took place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday (25th March). The match between the two teams took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and it saw the Shreyas Iyer-led side winning the game by 11 runs.
Punjab Kings had a poor start to their innings as Prabhsimran Singh fell for just five in the fourth over. However, after that, youngster Priyansh Arya (47) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (97*) joined hands and did the carnage.
The Priyansh-Iyer duo added 51 runs off just 21 balls for the second wicket and put pressure on the opposition. After the opening batter got out, Gujarat Titans made a bit of a comeback, picking a few quick wickets. But captain Iyer continued hammering the opposition and played his best innings in IPL.
Shashank Singh (44*) played a blinder in the end, adding 81 runs with captain. Thanks to their effort, Punjab Kings posted a total of 243 for five. For Gujarat Titans, Sai Kishore bagged three wickets and was the pick of the bowlers.
Gujarat Titans had a brutal start to their innings, with skipper Shubman Gill (33) and Sai Sudharsan (74) adding 61 runs for an opening partnership. After the captain walked back in the sixth over, Jos Buttler (54), along with Sai, did further carnage and slammed Punjab Kings bowlers all over the park.
The duo added 84 runs for the second wicket and took their team close to the target. Impact player Sherfane Rutherford (46) and Buttler also had a fifty-plus partnership that put Punjab under pressure. But the Shreyas Iyer-led side held their nerves and kept picking wickets at regular intervals. They restricted the opposition to 232 to win the game by 11 runs.

After GT vs PBKS, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained their top stop at the table, along with Royal Challengers Bengaluru at two. Punjab Kings climbed to three while Chennai Super Kings were dropped to fourth spot. Delhi Capitals are 5th, while the rest of the teams are yet to open their account.

After GT vs PBKS, Ishan Kishan is still leading the orange cap charts. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer moved to second. While Lucknow Super Giants star Nicholas Pooran is third. Sai Sudharsan and Mitchell Marsh are fourth and fifth respectively.

There wasn't much change in the purple cap charts. Noor Ahmad is at the top followed by Khaleel Ahmed and Krunal Pandya. Sai Kishore rose to the fourth spot while Vignesh Puthur is in 5th.
