IPL Points Table 2026: Updated Standings, Orange Cap, Purple Cap After CSK vs KKR Match 22

The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.22, was between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. CSK beat KKR by 32 runs. KKR won the toss and elected to field first. KKR made one change in the match as Varun Chakravarthy came in for Navdeep Saini.
CSK came into the match with confidence of winning their last game and played an unchanged XI. The Men in Yellow had the best start with Sanju Samson smashing three boundaries in the very first over. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad???s poor form continued as he was dismissed with another low score of 7 runs, though the in-form Ayush Mhatre continued his explosive batting alongside Samson.
IPL 2026: CSK vs KKR Match Result:
Mhatre was dismissed in the final over of the powerplay as he was dismissed on the score of 38 off 17 balls, and CSK were 72/2 after the end of 6 overs. Sanju was cleaned up by Kartik Tyagi with a brilliant delivery as the wicket-keeper batter was dismissed on the score of 48. Later on, KKR bowlers restricted the runs a bit, putting some control on the runs.
Dewald Brevis and Sarfaraz Khan smacked some overs and stitched a 50 partnership between them in 32 balls. The latter was dismissed on the score of 23 off 18 balls, and the partnership was broken by Sunil Narine. In the very next over, Kartik Tyagi picked up the dangerous Brevis for the score of 41 runs.
CSK could only get to the score of 192/5 runs in their 20 overs; they will feel they were 25-30 runs short with the kind of start they got. The Knight spinners bowled extremely well towards the middle and death overs.
Coming out to chase the target of 193, KKR had the worst possible start despite opening with Finn Allen and Sunil Narine; they were both back inside the first six overs as CSK were on top of the Knights. However, they were never in the chase after those two wickets.
The wickets kept on falling in the middle overs, and the Knights failed to chase down the target as Rovman Powell and Ramandeep Singh tried their best, as the batters scored 31 and 35 respectively, and Knights finished off with the score of 160/7 runs. This is the fourth loss for the Purple and Gold side as they are yet to win their first game in the competition.
