The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.58, was between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. This was the reverse fixture. MI had their revenge over the PBKS, winning the game by 6 wickets. As PBKS lose their fifth match in a row.
Jasprit Bumrah, who was the captain of the side in the absence of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. The speedster in his first game as captain in IPL won the toss and elected to bowl first. MI made two changes: Shardul Thakur and Sherfane Rutherford came in for Hardik and SKY. PBKS also made a few changes, bringing in Xavier Bartlett, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Vishnu Vinod.

After being asked to bat first, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had a decent start; the latter was given a lifeline when Naman Dhir dropped a catch in the second over. The two yet again stitched a 50-run partnership, and the former was dismissed by Deepak Chahar on the score of 22 runs.
Since then, Prabhsimran and Cooper Connolly stitched a partnership, and as the former brought up his half-century in 29 deliveries. But he was dismissed on the score of 57 runs, and after his wickets, there was a small collapse for the home side. In the span of four runs, they lost three wickets of Shreyas Iyer, Connolly, and Prabsimran.
The Kings were nose-diving as they kept on losing wickets, with Shashank Singh out on a low score yet again, and Suryansh Shedge did not have the best of outings, scoring 8 runs. Marco Jansen fell for just two runs, and Azmat then played a solid innings of 38 off 17 deliveries.
Some small, impactful knocks of 18 and 15 runs from Bartlett and Vishnu Vinod, respectively, helped the Kings to finish off with the score of 200/8 in their 20 overs. Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers, picking 4/39 in four overs.
While chasing, Ryan Rickelton came out to chase with all guns blazing in the second innings. He was the aggressor as Rohit Sharma was struggling to score runs and even find singles. The South Africa batter scored 48 off 23 deliveries and was dismissed by Azmat Omarzai. Soon, Naman Dhir departed on the score of 9 runs.
Then the struggling Rohit Sharma was back, scoring 25 runs off 26 deliveries. Yuzvendra Chahal bamboozled his former India captain. After that came Tilak Varma, who was absolutely brilliant in the night as he finished the game in style and remained unbeaten on the score of 75 runs. Will Jacks scored 25* off 10 deliveries.
