KKR vs SRH, which was the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday (3rd April). Kolkata Knight Riders are back to their winning ways as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs to win their second match.
Asked to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders had a terrible start to their innings as Sunil Narine (1) and Quinton de Kock (7) fell early, leaving their team at 16/2. It was then when skipper Ajinkya Rahane (38) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50) joined hands and bailed the team out of trouble.
The Rahane-Raghuvanshi duo added 81 runs for the third wicket to take their team to a comfortable position. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad then made a slight comeback with two quick wickets.
But, it was Venkatesh Iyer (60), who, returned to form and hit a brutal half-century. He was supported well by Rinku Singh (32*) as their 97-run stand took Kolkata to a total of 200 for seven.
Sunrisers Hyderabad came up with the worst possible effort in the chase. Travis Head (4), Abhishek Sharma (2), and Ishan Kishan (2) were back in the hut early as the runners-up of last year were left reeling at nine for three.
Nitish Kumar Reddy (19) and Kamindu Mendis (27) looked to steady the ship but both perished along with Aniket Verma (6) as Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers reduced Sunrisers Hyderabad to 75 for six. Heinrich Klaasen (33) fought hard but he too fell in 15th over.
The defending champions then wrapped up the innings quickly as they bundled out Hyderabad for 120 to win the game by 80 runs. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun Chakaravarthy and Vaibhav Arora picked three wickets each.

After KKR vs SRH, Match 15, the top four remained the same. Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are in the top two spots in the Points Table. Royal Challengers Bengaluru at three is followed by Gujarat Titans at 4th. Kolkata Knight Riders moved to 5th while Sunrisers Hyderabad are now last on the table.
