LSG vs MI took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday (4th April). The 16th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 saw Lucknow Super Giants registering their second win of the tournament.

Asked to bat, Mitchell Marsh (60) took Lucknow Super Giants off to a flying start with the bat. The all-rounder hit a 27-ball fifty to put Mumbai Indians under pressure. Aiden Markram (53) supported him well as they stitched 76 runs for the opening wicket.

After that, Mumbai Indians made a slight comeback with quick wickets. Ayush Badoni (30) and David Miller (27) later came up with the vital hands down order that powered Lucknow Super Giants to a total of 203 for eight. For Mumbai Indians, skipper Hardik Pandya picked a fifer.

Both the Mumbai Indians openers in Will Jacks (6) and Ryan Rickelton (10) perished early in the chase as the five-time champions were reduced to 17 for two. Naman Dhir (46) and vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav (67) brought their team back into the game with their 69-run stand for the third wicket.

Suryakumar slammed his first fifty in the league, while Tilak Varma (25) supported him well as they added 66 runs for the fourth wicket. With Tilak struggling to get going, he retired himself out and Mitchell Santner walked out to bat.

With 22 runs needed off the last over, Hardik Pandya (28*) tried his best but couldn't take his team home as Avesh Khan held his nerves to win the game for Lucknow by 12 runs.
