In the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosted the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Wednesday, April 23, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad faced a defeat against the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets, and it led to some changes in the IPL 2025 Points Table.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match. The MI bowling unit made sure to make the most of the toss decision and left SRH tottering at 13/4. Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult ran through the top order of the SRH and made the batters look clueless.
Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their 5th wicket for 35 runs, and after that, Heinrich Klaasen (71) joined forces with Abhinav Manohar (43) to stage a comeback for Sunrisers Hyderabad that helped them to avoid embarrassment. In the end, SRH posted 143/8 on the board.
For MI, Trent Boult emerged as the top wicket-taker in the innings as he had four scalps to his name, while Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya also got wickets.
Chasing the target, Ryan Rickelton got out in the second over, but Rohit Sharma continued his good form and blasted a 46-ball 70. Other than Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav showcased a brilliant batting show as he smashed 40* runs off 19 balls to help MI complete the run-chase in 15.4 overs.
