The IPL 2025 mega auction is on the brink of being the biggest IPL auction in the history of the Indian Premier League. Before this, the BCCI has set a deadline date of 31/10/2024 for all IPL teams to finalize their IPL Retention 2025.
As the date for IPL Retention 2025 nears, several Indian superstars have their future hanging in the balance as teams will be on the lookout to form a fresh core group from IPL 2025. As a result, a lot of young Indian players might see a gigantic shift in their current positions within their teams and also among other teams.
IPL Retention 2025: Price slabs finalized by BCCI
All IPL teams including Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Supergiants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad have been given a maximum of 5 retentions with as many as 4 Right to Match (RTM) options for IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
The price slab determined by the BCCI for each retention is as follows:
- Retention 1: INR 18 Crores
- Retention 2: INR 14 Crores
- Retention 3: INR 11 Crores
- Retention 4: INR 18 Crores
- Retention 5: INR 14 Crores
Apart from this, any uncapped retention can be done at a minimum of INR 4 Crores. All the IPL franchises have been allotted INR 120 Crores as their Price Pool which is also the biggest pool since the inception of the Indian Premier League.
If an IPL team exercises the right to retain all 5 players, it will end up spending INR 75 Crores on just 5 players and will have to buy the rest of the 20 players with only INR 45 Crores. This has made the situation tricky for a lot of franchises and hence, we might see humungous changes in multiple setups.
In this IPL Retention 2025 live blog, we keep you posted with all the latest news and updates on the retained players list and also players coming into the IPL auction 2025.
