Former IPL winner of Chennai Super Kings Ambati Rayudu slammed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after they lost to Rajasthan last night.

The Faf du Plessis-led RCB were taking on Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator match at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. Following a fairytale comeback in the tournament which saw Bengaluru win all of their matches in the 2nd half of IPL, the South Indian outfit choked once again when it mattered the most.

What did Ambati Rayudu say about RCB's performance in the playoffs?

While speaking to Star Sports last night after the Rajasthan Royals went through to the next round, Ambati Rayudu had a choice of words for RCB. Rayudu was extremely critical of Bengaluru's performance and how aggressively they had celebrated when their top 4 finish was confirmed.

In their last league stage match against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings wherein RCB had earned qualification, the player's aggression was questioned. The likes of Ambati Rayudu and Irfan Pathan among others were pretty vocal about Bengaluru's over-celebration and celebrating as if they had won the IPL 2024 title.

In a match that was supposed to be MS Dhoni's final outing in the Indian Premier League circuit, Virat Kohli among others had celebrated wildly. The former RCB skipper was even caught on camera using curse words following the departure of Dhoni and it was something that didn't land well with the fans.

Many people from that day onwards started backing the Rajasthan Royals to beat RCB and that's what happened last night. Sanju Samson's side was on top of Bengaluru right from the start of the match and up until the end. Bengaluru's batting line-up had pretty much failed to score runs in the most crucial match of the season.

Ambati Rayudu, who is technically the reigning IPL champion for winning it last year with CSK, was critical about RCB choking in the final stage. He lashed out at the players in the context of their wild celebration in their previous match, stating that it's not the way to win the coveted title.

Ambati Rayudu made it clear that RCB will not win the richest league ever by wild celebrations and displaying aggression. No team wins the IPL trophy after beating Chennai and for doing so, a team is supposed to play well in the last stages.

"IPL Trophies are not won by celebrations and aggression. IPL Trophy is not winning by only beating CSK. To win the IPL trophy you will have to play well in the Playoffs." - Ambati Rayudu said via Star Sports.
