Ireland vs Zimbabwe Live, 3rd ODI. Ireland will play against Zimbabwe in the third and final match of the three-match ODI series on Monday at Civil Service Cricket Club. Zimbabwe took the early lead in the series after winning the first game by 38 runs. Batting first, Zimbabwe scored 266 runs in the first innings. Craig Ervine top-scored with the bat for the side.

He scored 64 runs off 96 balls, including 7 fours. Besides, Brendon Taylor (49 off 45), Sean Williams (33 off 57), and Sikandar Raza (59 off 44) also made substantial contributions with the bat. Ireland made a great start to the chase, with Paul Sterling and William Porterfield stitching a 64-run partnership for the opening wicket. Paul Sterling got out in the 16th over and Andre Balbiernie also went back in the 22nd over.

However, Porterfield and Harry Tector kept the side in the chase with the duo adding 71 runs for the third wicket. However, Porterfied’s wicket in the 35th over, saw a collapse as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Harry Tector got out after scoring a half-century in the 39th over and there was a little contribution from other batsmen after that. Ireland saw them getting bundled out for 228 runs in 48.4 overs, thereby falling short of 38 runs to the target.

The second match saw a much better batting performance from Ireland. A combined batting effort from the team helped them post 282 runs in the first innings. William Porterfield (67 off 100) and Paul Sterling (33 off 71) stitched an 82-run opening partnership. Andrew Balbirnie (40 off 43), Harry Tector (55 off 42), and Lorcan Tucker (32 off 20) made significant contributions to the total. For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava was the star performer with the ball as he picked 3 for 52 runs in 9 overs.

However, due to incessant rain, the second innings couldn’t take place and the game ended in a no result. Ahead of the third one-day international, Ireland would be desperate for a win to level the series. On the other hand, another win for Zimbabwe would give them a series win.
