Andrew Balbirnie (40 off 43), Harry Tector (55 off 42), and Lorcan Tucker (32 off 20) made significant contributions to the total. For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava was the star performer with the ball as he picked 3 for 52 runs in 9 overs.

However, due to incessant rain, the second innings couldn’t take place and the game ended in a no result. Ahead of the third one-day international, Ireland would be desperate for a win to level the series. On the other hand, another win for Zimbabwe would give them a series win.
