Irfan Pathan's team member dies in West Indies amid the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024

In a shocking news, former India allrounder Irfan Pathan's makeup artist was found dead in a swimming pool in the West Indies. The incident happened during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, which is being co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA.

It is believed that Irfan Pathan had taken his personal makeup artist Fayaz Ansari to the West Indies. Irfan is a part of the commentary panel for the ongoing tournament.

The reason for the death is not yet clear as the authorities are investigating the matter. Irfan Pathan is himself handling all the formalities to bring Fayaz's deceased body back in India.

The family plans to receive the deceased man's body in Delhi, with the process expected to take three to four days.

Who is Fayaz Ansari?

Fayaz Ansari is a makeup artist from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. Ansari, who is from Mohalla Qazi Sarai iin Nagina Tehsil in Bijnor, moved to Mumbai around 22 years ago. Irfan Pathan started visiting his salon for the makeup soon.

Subsequently, Pathan started taking him along on the international trips as well. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Fayaz Ansari had travelled with Irfan Pathan as his personal makeup artist.

The news of Fayaz Ansari getting drowned was informed on Friday evening (June 21) from the Westt Indies. It is believed that Ansari had drowned in a hotel swimming pool while taking a bath.

The cousin of the deceased, Mohammad Ahmed revealed that the the news has left his family devastated. According to him, Ansari had just married two months ago in Bijnor. He had gone from Bijnor to Mumbai just eight prior. The sudden accident has pushed his family into grief and sorrow. His wife and the other family members are inconsolable.

T20 World Cup 2024 at its final stages

The T20 World Cup 2024 is taking place in the West Indies and the USA. The Super 8 matches, the semifinals, and the final of the tournament will be held in the West Indies. Currently, the Super 8 stage is taking place, with just two matches remaining.

The first of these two matches will take place between India and Australia at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia. The match holds high significance given the fact that it is a do-or-die game for Australia. Meanwhile, India are comfortably positioned but cannot afford a slip-up as they are also yet to ensure their qualification.

On the other hand, the last Super 8 match will be played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. This game is also important given the fact that Afghanistan needs to win in order to qualify for the semi-finals. It is a golden opportunity for Afghanistan, who stunned Australia in their previous match for a historic win.

The two semi-finals will be played in Trinidad and Guyana while the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will take place in Barbados.
