Karnataka all-rounder Shreyas Gopal has said that he is all set to make his debut for the India National Cricket Team. The leg-spinner from Karnataka has quietly risen through the ranks of Indian cricket and he has gone on to make a mark for himself in the domestic circuit. The 27-year old has now become a regular starter for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
He first grabbed the headlines when he picked the first hat-trick in Irani Cup history against the Rest of India, which helped Karnataka win the Irani Cup. Then again, he claimed an IPL hat-trick in IPL 2019 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, which included the wickets of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis.

Shreyas Gopal All Set To Make His Indian Debut
Speaking to Sportzwiki in an exclusive chat, Shreyas said, “My dream is to definitely don the Indian jersey. At the moment, I feel I am ready and I am just waiting for that call-up. Donning the Indian jersey is going to be a very proud moment for me and my family. Irrespective of the format, I feel I am ready and I really want to represent my country.”

“Every cricketer plays the sport to represent their country and I also belong to the same group. I am just hopeful that day comes sooner. I would give everything that I have, for my country,” Gopal further stated.
I Feel Happy To See My Peers Succeed
Shreyas Gopal enjoys his seat in the Karnataka state team with a few great names which include the likes of KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, and Mayank Agarwal. He is also the teammate of young Indian pacer, Prasidh Krishna, who recently made his debut for the Men in Blue. Gopal said that he is more than happy to see his Karnataka peers succeed.

“It’s going to be very selfish of me to think on my part that I am not happy for someone who is being selected in the Indian team. Every player has made some or the other sacrifice to reach that point. I was getting goosebumps while watching Prasidh Krishna getting a call and getting to see him bowl for the national team. I was extremely happy for him,” Shreyas Gopal said.
