Ishan Kishan Picks Two Mumbai Indians Bowlers Whom He Struggles To Counter In The Nets

Jharkhand and Mumbai Indians swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan recently engaged in an Instagram session with his IPL franchise where he answered questions ranging across various topics.
During the session, Kishan was asked to pick the two bowlers in the Mumbai Indians camp that he finds the most difficult to counter.
Kishan responded by naming the Indian pace sensation and one of the best bowlers of the current era, Jasprit Bumrah, as one of the bowlers that struggle to counter.
While Bumrah’s selection was on expected terms, the fact that Ishan Kishan named Krunal Pandya as the second bowler was surprising to say the best.
What was even more puzzling was the reason that Ishan Kishan gave while picking Krunal.
Krunal Pandya is someone who mostly fires the ball into the batter but Kishan claimed that the fact that the spin-bowling all-rounder bowls very slow is what makes him a tricky customer to deal with.
“Jasprit Bumrah and Krunal Pandya. Because in the nets, Krunal bowls so slow that I can’t even imagine. I swing my bat twice till the time the ball comes!” Ishan Kishan claimed.
Ishan Kishan also heaped high praise on Hardik Pandya.
When asked about one quality of Hardik Pandya that he would like to integrate into his game, Kishan alluded to the Baroda all-rounder’s hand-eye coordination.
“His hitting skills, his wickets. His hand-eye coordination actually. It is amazing. His bats are too heavy for me so there’s no point taking them,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan will be looking to shrug off his poor IPL form if he gets the opportunity to represent India in the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka.
Kishan, who smoked a match-winning half-century on his T20 debut against England earlier this year, endured a horrendous outing in the first phase of IPL 2021. In 5 innings, he managed a mere 73 runs at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 82.95 and was eventually dropped from the side.
