The moment quickly went viral on social media, with fans across the world sharing clips and images of the celebration. Most people called it a beautiful example of sportsmanship, saying cricket had once again proved it could rise above borders and politics.
However, as always, not everyone took it positively. Several fans criticized the gesture, and some of them even called for banning Ishan from Indian cricket, especially after the military faceoff between India and Pakistan following the horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam.

Ishan Kishan and Mohammad Abbas create rare IND-PAK county moment
Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan and Mohammad Abbas are sharing the Nottinghamshire dressing room, which is a rare sight. It is only the sixth time that cricketers from India and Pakistan have played together in county cricket. Back in the 1970s, for the first time ever, Bishan Singh Bedi played with Mushtaq Mohammad and Sarfraz Nawaz in county cricket.
More recently, Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammad Rizwan played together for Sussex in the 2022 County Championship. But Kishan and Abbas' partnership turned many heads, especially with it coming just months after rising India-Pakistan tensions due to the Pahalgam terror attack.
