India National Cricket Team captains Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav relived the iconic victory over the Pakistan National Cricket Team in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav shared their memories from the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match, which is regarded as one of the most thrilling matches in the history of T20I cricket.

Virat Kohli Played One Of The Greatest Knocks In Cricket History Against Pakistan

India opted to bowl first in the high-octane T20 World Cup 2022 match against Pakistan on October 23 and restricted them to a decent total of 159/8.

When it came to run-chase, India were off to a disastrous start. They lost KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav inside powerplay, and to make things worse, Axar Patel got run out on the first ball of the 7th over.

From there on, it looked like Pakistan would easily crush India and register their second consecutive win over the arch-rivals in T20 World Cup history. However, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya had different plans.

They showed great composure and started building the innings slowly. They didn't bat with an aggressive intent and were mainly focused on avoiding any fall of a wicket. Kohli and Hardik stitched up a sensational 113-run partnership before the all-rounder was dismissed.

Virat Kohli, meanwhile, remained unbeaten in the middle, smoked Pakistan pacers all over to the park, and hit the greatest shot in cricket history over Haris Rauf's head for a six. The modern-day great made sure he got the job done and steered India to an epic 4-wicket win. He remained unbeaten at 82 runs off 53 balls.

Win predictor showed only 2 to 3 percent - Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma recall T20 World Cup win vs Pakistan

In a video shared by ICC, India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav stated that the partnership between Kohli and Hardik changed everything as the win predictor showed Pakistan would easily win the match. Suryakumar Yadav said:

"When we were four down, I was sitting in the dugout. [I] saw the screen and win predictor showed only 2 to 3 percent and then Virat and Hardik stitched that partnership a very good partnership there. It changed everything.

"Can't say we were very sure that we are going to win that game, but we were definitely back in the competition."

Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, said that he being a totally nervous person didn't watch the match live, but came out to watch the final over enjoy the winning moment.

"90,000 people in the stadium. We were in a bit of trouble with our bat. We lost a couple of wickets early. I am a very nervous person. I was sitting inside the changing room, not watching it live because obviously, it was quite tense when the last over was being bowled. But, I came out and enjoyed that moment as well," Rohit Sharma recalled.
