It Hurts Me 100 Times More Than It Would Hurt Rahul Or Athiya: Suniel Shetty On Trolls Targeting KL Rahul

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has opened up on his emotional relationship with his son-in-law and India cricket star KL Rahul. In January this year, the right-handed batsman and Athiya Shetty tied the knot after being together for more than three years. The wedding had taken place at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala.

In a recent interview, the veteran actor disclosed that social media trolls targeting KL Rahul hurt him more than the cricketer himself or his daughter Athiya. While KL Rahul managed to give a fitting reply to his critics by doing well in the World Cup, he faced heavy criticism for his performance at the beginning of the year.

Not only fans but even several former cricketers including former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad openly criticised the batsman and questioned his place in the Indian team. And as the batsman faced heavy criticism on social media, Suniel Shetty struggled to deal with it. Speaking to ANI, the actor said:

“The faith of the people in him, the selectors, the faith of the captain, it said it all. It hurts me 100 times more than it would hurt Rahul or Athiya.”

KL Rahul stars in World Cup:

KL Rahul recently starred in the World Cup and played a key role in India’s march to the final. The middle-order batsman scored 452 runs in 10 innings at an average of 75.33 with the help of one century and two half-centuries. Just before the World Cup, he had also smashed a century against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four clash.

He will be seen in action soon when he leads Team India in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. With captain Rohit Sharma rested for the series, he has been given the responsibility to lead the ODI team. Rahul was last seen in action during the World Cup final. He is also a part of India’s Test squad for the two-match series against the Proteas.
