Captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli speaks about the changes that have taken place in his and his wife, Anushka Sharma’s life since becoming parents. The skilful batsman and the superstar Bollywood actress were blessed with a daughter on January 11; they then named her Vamika Kohli.

Virat Kohli says that there have been major “life-changing” effects in his lifestyle since the arrival of a new member of his family. The 32-year-old feels he has become more responsible in taking care of his daughter. The right-hander finds it difficult to put to words the profound feelings and experience of parenting.

“Things change quite drastically. I mean, everything that you have been used to, routines etc everything changes. You literally have to, totally be aligned and aware of taking care of another life that is totally dependent on the mother primarily but also dependent on the father.

“Both parents taking care of the child together is a different environment altogether and something that both (Anushka Sharma) of us have enjoyed thoroughly,” Virat Kohli said in a video posted by the franchise.

“It’s been life-changing. It’s been a connection that has been different from anything else that we both have experienced before just to see your child smile at you is something you can’t put in words. I can’t express how it feels from within. It’s just been such a blessed and amazing period,” he added.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper is optimistic of the chances of his side to claim glory in IPL 2021. After being eliminated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoffs last year, RCB shelled out big money on Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson at the auction.

Virat Kohli is excited about the 14th edition of the tournament and feels this could be RCB’s year. The right-hander himself is in sublime form having bagged the Man of the Series award in the 5-match T20I series against England; he struck a couple of more fifties in the ODI series.

“It feels surreal. Honestly, it doesn’t feel like we went away for too long as there was a lot of cricket in between as well but yeah, very excited that we are playing in India again. Although in a different way, in a different setting. I am very optimistic and yes I have a good feeling this time around,” the skipper had said at the start of the tournament.
