Former South Africa allrounder Jacques Kallis has predicted the winner of the T20 World Cup title. India and South Africa are all set to face each other in the summit clash of the tournament at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

This will be a match between the two only unbeaten sides of the tournament, and thus, it promises to be a thriller. While South Africa defeated Afghanistan in the first semi-final, India decimated England in the other semi-final to march towards the final.

Jacques Kallis predicts the winner T20 World Cup 2024 final

In a video posted on his social media handle, Jacques Kallis predicted the winner of the T20 World Cup 2024 final. As expected, Kallis chose his country South Africa to win the match and bring the trophy home.

"My prediction for the final, of course, I'm South African, of course I'm going to back South Africa. Hopefully, they will bring it home for us and South Africa will win their first World Cup," Kallis said in the video posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Jacques Kallis is regarded as one of the greatest ever all-rounders to have played this game. He has over 13000 runs and picked up 292 wickets in his 166-match long Test career. The right-hander has an insane average of 55.37 with the bat in Tests.

Kallis was equally impressive in ODI cricket as he scored over 11000 runs in the format at an average of 44.36. He picked up 273 wickets in the 50-over format.

Despite having outstanding records, he was unable to win any ICC trophy during his decorated international career. Now that South Africa has reached the final, he hopes them to win their first-ever ICC trophy.

South Africa's performance in T20 World Cup 2024

Meanwhile, South Africa have been excellent throughout the tournament. They have won all of the matches they have played so far, which also includes some narrow wins over Nepal and Bangladesh.

But the Proteas raised their game in the Super 8 stage as they went on to defeat highly skilled teams like England and West Indies. In the semi-finals, they demolished Afghanistan and made a statement before entering the final.

Despite their batters not being at their best, South African bowlers have been in sublime form. Anrich Nortje is their leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets in 7 matches and is likely to play a big role with Kagiso Rabada, who is not too far behind with 12 wickets in 8 matches. Left-arm wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has played just 4 games this tournament but has picked up 10 wickets already.

But they will be up against an Indian side that has looked equally formidable in this tournament. It will be a cracker of a contest between the two most in-form sides of the tournament.
