The Jammu and Kashmir squad for the forthcoming Irani Cup has been announced, with Paras Dogra named captain. The Irani Cup 2026–27 match, between reigning Ranji Trophy champions Jammu & Kashmir and the Rest of India, will be played from October 1 to October 5, 2026, at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.
The Rest of India will be led by Rishabh Pant. Meanwhile, Umran Malik has not been included in the J&K squad, which is a surprising call from the state association. Apart from him, Auqib Nabi has also not been included in the squad, as he is currently with the India team for the ODI series.
Rohit Sharma named for Irani Cup 2026
A notable addition is Rohit Sharma; however, the catch is that this is not the former India captain, but a right-arm medium-pace bowler from Jammu and Kashmir who plays domestic cricket for the side. He has the experience of playing 22 first-class matches for the defending Ranji champions.
Rohit has taken 39 wickets at an average of 34.66 and an economy rate of 3.08. His best bowling figures are 5/12, while his best match figures are 7/42 in 34 innings he has bowled in first-class cricket. He has featured in 8 List A cricket matches and, in 8 innings, picked up 8 wickets at an average of 30.25 and an economy rate of 4.34.
