Pakistan have been on a three-match Test tour in England. The Men in Green have already lost the series after losing the first two matches of the series. Ahead of the third Test match at Edgbaston, former Pakistan coach Jason Gillespie has lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and chief selector Aaqib Javed.
The Men in Green have now lost 15 of their last 20 Test matches and currently sit at the bottom of the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, similar to where they finished the last cycle. They have been winless in their last five Test matches in England, losing three and drawing two. The team’s performance has been dismal in recent times across formats.
Jason Gillespie takes swipe at PCB
Jason Gillespie, while speaking with Code Sports, took a swipe at the PCB and chief selector Aaqib Javed after the PCB sent seven players and two coaches back to Pakistan for their poor performance in England. He has urged Javed, who is also the director of high performance, to stop playing with the players’ careers.
"I feel for the players, this is these guys livelihoods. From the outside, it looks like they are playing with fear. Salman Ali Agha goes from captaining the team in the first Test against England to being out of the team for the second Test and on the plane home before the third Test. How does that work?" Gillespie told Code Sports.

Gillespie also pointed out that the PCB selection committee has no proper process and strategy to select the players under Aaqib Javed. The selectors change their strategy and mind like "they change their pants"; thus, the performance of the team has drastically gone down across formats.
"It's pretty clear they don't have a selection strategy at all, particularly under Aaqib Javed. They change their mind like they change their pants -- daily," he said.

Aaqib Javed, on the other hand, has blamed Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten for the chaos that has been ongoing at the moment in Pakistan Cricket. However, now the former Australia National Cricket Team pacer has shared his insights that the chairman of selectors needs to look in the mirror before blaming anyone.
"Aaqib Javed came out recently and blamed Gary Kirsten and myself for everything that is going on. Aaqib has been the chairman of selectors for the past two years. We haven't even been there. Somehow, he claims it is our fault. Make sense out of that. I think Javed needs to look at himself in the mirror."
"There is definitely no communication between Aaqib Javed, who is meant to be chairman of selectors, and the players, The players who were sacked heard it through family and friends and the media that they had been sacked," he added.
In the first Test they lost by an innings and 103 runs. They could not bat for 100 overs combined in the first game, as their batting crumbled. With their skipper Babar Azam back in the side for the second game, nothing changed for them as they lost by 194 runs at Lord’s.
