Australia's red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie has recently spoken about England's 'Bazball' approach that has given them tremendous success in the last few years. Gillespie also spoke about how Pakistan is planning to counter England's aggressive approach in the upcoming Test series.

England have adopted an aggressive approach in Test cricket ever since Brendon McCullum took over as the head coach of the Test team. The batters have been more positive in their approach and they have constantly tried to move the game forward and put pressure on the opposition bowlers.

The approach has brought them huge success after a few months of humiliating defeats. Playing by this approach, they even whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 on their last tour to the country.

Jason Gillespie reveals how Pakistan will challenge England's 'Bazball' approach

Recently, Jason Gillespie was involved in a podcast with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in which he shared his views on England's Bazball approach. Gillespie admitted that England have evolved their game but showed trust in his team's approach to produce the desired results.

"It’s very clear how England approaches their cricket. I don’t particularly like the term “Bazball,” but they do play aggressive cricket. We’ve seen them evolve their game and that’s how they want to play," Jason Gillespie stated.

"We will play our way, striving to be a consistent and disciplined team that hangs in there and strikes at the right moment to drive the game forward and exploit gaps. That’s our strategy," he added.

"We’ll go out and do our jobs" - Jason Gillespie on Pakistan's approach

Jason Gillespie further mentioned that he wants Pakistan to make full use of the opportunities whenever they arise. He claimed that Pakistan would do well in the series despite being the underdogs.

"We want to challenge our opposition as well. When opportunities arise, we’ll look to take them on, whether with the bat or the ball. This makes for a fascinating series, and it’s really exciting," Gillespie said.

"A lot of people are writing us off, and that’s okay - that’s fine. It will only motivate our boys a little bit more. We’ll go out and do our jobs as best we can, and hopefully, the results will take care of themselves," the former Australia pacer added.

Pakistan vs England Test series schedule

Pakistan will host England for a three-match Test series beginning on October 7. The first two Tests of the series will take place in Multan while the final Test will be held in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan recently lost a Test series to Bangladesh at home and will be under severe pressure to win. Shan Masood has been retained as the captain of the team despite losing five out of five matches as captain of Pakistan so far.

Meanwhile, England are coming on the back of series victories against West Indies and Sri Lanka at home. England whitewashed West Indies 3-0 while they defeated Sri Lanka 2-1.
