Jasprit Bumrah rested for Australia ODIs; Sets eyes on T20I World Cup 2026

The ace Indian pacer has been picked for the upcoming tour to Australia, as he has been picked to play only in the shortest format of the game. Recently, he was part of India's squad for the Asia Cup 2025 and spearheaded the Indian pace attack.

For the upcoming tour to Australia, Bumrah's unavailability would be due to managing his workload. He played in the England series and the Asia Cup and was now part of the West Indies home series as well. He has resorted to featuring in the shortest format as he aims to feature in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to be held in India.

India, the defending champions from 2024, will be gearing up to defend their title under home conditions, marking their first World Cup campaign under their new head coach, Gautam Gambhir.

Sai Sudharsan misses out on a well-deserved hundred in the Second Test

Indian batsman Sai Sudharsan, who plays for India in the longest format of the game, failed to be at his best during India's tour of England. Having played 6 matches in the tour, he scored 140 runs with just one half-century to his name.

Despite his poor form, he was handed an opportunity to play in the home series against the West Indies. However, he failed to put on a promising performance at Ahmedabad, the ground he is very familiar with.

Coming into the second Test, Sudharsan played well for another half-century, the second in his Test career. He contributed to a huge partnership with Centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, just at the brink of his maiden Test hundred, he was dismissed by Jomel Warrican as he was trapped right in front of the stumps.
