India National Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed his top spot in the ICC Rankings for bowlers in Test cricket. The vice-captain of the Indian Test team has become the new No.1 ranked bowler in the longest format of the game.
This comes after Jasprit Bumrah's sensational performance in the opening game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The stand-in India captain wreaked havoc across the Australia National Cricket Team batters and helped his team win the game.

Captaining the team in Perth, Jasprit Bumrah led from the front and picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings. His exceptional spell saw the Australia National Cricket Team getting bundled out for just 104 runs and then followed it up with a three-wicket haul in the second innings of the game.
Jasprit Bumrah, who won the Man of the Match in Perth, climbed two spots and ahead of South Africa quick Kagiso Rabada and Australia seamer Josh Hazlewood to re-claim his top spot. He became the No.1 ranked bowler in February of this year and then in October.
Along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj also made a rise in the rankings following his decent performance with the ball in Perth. He climbed three places to 25th on the list of Test bowlers. The India National Cricket Team pacer picked 5 wickets across two innings in the first Test against Australia.
West Indies pacers Jayden Seales (up three spots to 11th), Kemar Roach (up four places to 17th), and Alzarri Joseph (up three rungs to 29th) also made a rise in the ICC Test rankings. This comes after their effort with the ball in the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in Antigua.
Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes No.2 ranked Test batter
In terms of ICC rankings for batters in Tests, Joe Root held his position at No.1 while there was a change in the No.2 position. India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal claimed the spot after his terrific batting effort with the bat in the first Test against the Australia National Cricket Team.
Yashasvi Jaiswal bagged a duck in the first innings but came up with a humongous effort with the bat in the second innings. The opening batter slammed a glorious ton and ended with an innings of 161 runs in Perth. He achieved the career-best rating of 825 and is 78 rating points behind Joe Root.
Apart from him, Australia batter Travis Head improved three places to move to 10th following his innings of 89. India batter Virat Kohli also made a massive rise in the ICC Test rankings. The premier batter slammed a glorious ton, his 30th in Test.
Virat Kohli improves 9 spots to No.13 position in the ICC Test rankings for batters
Virat Kohli improved 9 spots and is now sitting at the No.13 position in the ICC Test rankings for batters. The premier batter would be hoping to enter the top 10 once again and he will be having a massive opportunity to do that because there are still four more Tests left against Australia.
India's all-rounder duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin remain in the top two rankings for Test all-rounders despite missing the first Test against Australia. Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan improved three places to equal third following solid contributions with bat and ball against the West Indies.
