Jasprit Bumrah creates a World Record for India vs Australia

India's bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has created a massive record for India in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Bumrah has now become India's highest wicket-taker in Tests on Australian soil.
After achieving this massive milestone, Bumrah has now surpassed the legendary players like Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble in this list. The other two Indian players among the top five players are Ravichandran Ashwin, who is there in the current squad, and the former left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi.

Jasprit Bumrah achieved this feat with the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne. Bumrah bowled a back of a length ball outside off stump. Labuschagne went for a cut but it wasn't that short enough.
He went for a loose shot and immediately got an outside edge through to the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. It was another low score for Australia's No. 3 in this series. He has scored just one half-century in six innings so far.
The wicket was Bumrah's 52nd wicket on Australian soil which took him past the great Kapil Dev, who picked up 51 wickets in 11 Tests at an average of 24.58. Bumrah has now picked up 53 wickets in 10 Tests in Australia at an average of 17.15.
In the first innings, Bumrah became the second Indian bowler to pick up 50 Test wickets in Australia. Now, he has created another record in the same match. Bumrah and Kapil Dev are the only Indian bowlers to pick up 50 wickets in Australia.
Anil Kumble remained just one wicket short of fifty and finished on 49 wickets in in 10 Tests at an average of 37.73. Ravichandran Ashwin and Bishan Singh Bedi complete the list of top five players.
Among all these top five players, Bumrah and Ashwin are the only active cricketers. Ashwin played the second Test in Adelaide but was dropped for this Test match after a lacklustre performance.

Jasprit Bumrah's brilliance in BGT 2024-25
Bumrah has been superb in the ongoing series so far and is the leading wicket-taker. He has picked up 21 wickets in three Tests at a staggering average of 10.90. In a series where most of the Indian bowlers have struggled, Bumrah has been deadly with his skills and wicket-taking abilities.
The 31-year-old has carried India's bowling on his shoulders and led the team from the front. In the first Test of the series at Perth, Bumrah picked up a five-wicket haul and finished with eight wickets in the match. He was the captain of the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma and led India to an emphatic win.
