Zahoor Khan, a Pakistan-born pacer, has an inspiring story of determination and success. Now, he has revealed how Jasprit Bumrah helped him.

He was forced to relocate to the UAE to fulfill his cricketing dreams, and his entire journey took a flight when he joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp as a net bowler back in 2014.

This experience opened doors for him, especially when the Indian Premier League (IPL) shifted to the UAE in 2020, as he got to spend three months with the MI team.

His performances in the MI nets caught the attention of Indian superstars like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya.

Zahoor Khan reveals Jasprit Bumrah asked for tips, Rohit Sharma couldn't pick his delivery

Zahoor revealed that his slower deliveries left a lasting impression, on Jasprit Bumrah. He revealed that Bumrah was fascinated by his slower balls and even sought advice on how to perfect his grip. The UAE pacer also recounted the moment when he asked Bumrah for tips on bowling a yorker with the new ball.

Zahoor Khan was quoted as saying by Sports Tak: “I was with the Mumbai Indians for three months. I've spent a reasonable amount of time with Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah in fact liked me so much and asked me the grip. Yeh slower ball kaise dalte ho? How do you bowl this delivery?

This is a huge deal for me as he is the world's No. 1 bowler, and he asked me about the grip. He watched my video as well in the T10 tournament where I bowled a maiden. I told him but also asked him how he bowls Yorkers with the new ball. Because only 2 people in the world can do it—Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah.”

Rohit is a legend, and Bumrah is a superstar: Zahoor Khan

Even the 35-year-old pacer bowled to the former MI captain Rohit Sharma and impressed him with his slower deliveries. Recalling his first meeting with the Hitman, Zahoor recalled how he was warmly welcomed by Rohit by saying, 'The entire stadium is yours, Paaji. If you need anything, just let me know.'

The USA star further said, “I even bowled to Rohit Sharma. Once I bowled him a slower ball, and he kept on looking because the ball hardly reached him. Even he couldn’t pick up my deliveries. He was like, How can it be so slow? Then I bowled at him again. He said, Even if the batter picks your ball, it will never result in a six.”

In the end, Zahoor described Rohit as a "legend," saying the way he speaks and conducts himself was just amazing. Recalling his time at the MI, the pacer revealed that Rohit would always have dinner with the same guys, who would carry our luggage. Praising Bumrah, Zahoor called the Indian pacer a "superstar."

He was highly overwhelmed with the way Bumrah made a remarkable comeback after being sidelined for one year. Khan said Bumrah is a wonderful human being. Notably, the right-arm pacer played over 100 international matches and scalped over 150 wickets so far.
