Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is in the spotlight after a tense moment with a fan at an airport amid the five-match T20I series against South Africa. The pacer warned a fan who was recording a selfie video, and a brief heated exchange was caught on camera and quickly went viral across social media.

Bumrah is part of India’s squad for the T20I series against South Africa. After featuring in the opening two games, he missed the third match for personal reasons but rejoined the team ahead of the fourth T20I in Lucknow, where he was seen taking part in the warm-up before the match was called off due to fog.

Bumrah warned the fan that he might drop his phone and asked him to be careful. Despite the warning, the fan continued recording, which clearly irritated the Indian fast bowler.

Bumrah then took the phone from the fan, and the video ended suddenly. The incident quickly spread online and sparked debate. Some people criticised Bumrah for losing his temper, while others supported him and said the fan should have respected his personal space.

Fan: Aapke saath hi jaunga sir main [I'll go with you only, sir]

Bumrah: Phone gir gaya aapka to mereko bolna nahi [If your phone falls, don't blame me]

Fan: Koi baat nahi sir [That's okay, sir]

Jasprit Bumrah Has Mixed Start in T20I Series Against South Africa

Jasprit Bumrah had a mixed start to the T20I series against South Africa. In the opening match in Cuttack, he bowled brilliantly and picked up two wickets while giving away just 17 runs. However, he went wicketless and conceded 45 runs in Mullanpur.

Bumrah missed the third T20I in Dharamshala after returning home for personal reasons, which was confirmed by the BCCI. The fourth T20I in Lucknow was later abandoned because of heavy fog and poor air quality at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. India remain 2-1 ahead in the five-match series.

The series will now be decided in the fifth and final T20I, which is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on December 19. Bumrah and the rest of the Indian squad are expected to return to action for the series decider.

Jasprit Bumrah Is An Absolute Match-Winner - Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa said that Jasprit Bumrah’s workload needs to be managed, calling him a rare match-winner. Uthappa added that the focus now should be on striking the right balance, keeping Bumrah fit while giving him enough game time to build rhythm ahead of the World Cup.

“He is an absolute match-winner, and managing his workload is crucial,” Uthappa said. “Fast bowling is probably the toughest skill in the sport, and Bumrah does it at high pace with a demanding action.”

“You want to protect that, but at the same time, you want him to play enough cricket,” Uthappa added. “We've seen glimpses of his brilliance, and hopefully he can build consistency over the next few games heading into the World Cup.”
