Jasprit Bumrah Is Currently The Smartest Fast Bowler In The World: Shoaib Akhtar

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has not failed to acknowledge India’s victory over Australia in the second Test as much as he did their loss in the first. Shoaib Akhtar highly praised Ajinkya Rahane’s men who levelled the four-match series in style in Melbourne after taking a hammering in Adelaide. In the process, Akhtar has also rated Jasprit Bumrah as the smartest bowler in the world currently.
Jasprit Bumrah, who has led India’s bowling attack in the ongoing rubber against Australia, has made his mark in Test cricket in all the SENA countries so far. The 27-year old has 76 wickets in 16 Tests at 20.68 along with five-wicket hauls. Bumrah has eight wickets in two Tests in the ongoing series against Australia. His tour of Australia did not start as desired; however, he kept improving as it progressed.
“I think he probably is the smartest fast bowler. Bumrah, Mohammad Amir and even bigger than Wasim Akram, the guy that I’ve seen bowling is Mohammad Asif. I have actually seen batsmen crying while facing Asif. Laxman once said ‘how will I face this guy’, AB de Villiers literally started crying during the Asian Test Championship,” Akhtar told Sports Today.
People were doubtful about his fitness in Test cricket: Shoaib Akhtar
The Rawalpindi Express said that after Asif, Jasprit Bumrah stays the smartest in the world presently. Akhtar pointed out that even though Bumrah’s fitness remains a concern in Test cricket, he has the skills that include a quick bouncer, deceptive and sharp, and has a good character.
“But I think after Asif, Bumrah is the smartest fast bowler presently. People were doubtful about his fitness in Test cricket, even I was watching him closely. He has a quick bouncer, is deceptive and sharp and a good character this guy is,” he added.
