Former India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has made a shocking revelation on India's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Mhambrey claimed that Bumrah even remembers when a batter hit him for a boundary almost two years ago.
Jasprit Bumrah played a key role in India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph recently. In 8 matches during the tournament, Bumrah picked up 15 wickets at an average of 8.26 and an astonishing economy rate of 4.17. His economy rate was the best by a bowler in any edition of the T20 World Cup (minimum 100 balls).

Jasprit Bumrah remembers a boundary two years ago, claims Paras Mhambrey
During a chat with sports journalist Vimal Kumar on the latter's YouTube channel, Paras Mhambrey heaped praise on Bumrah saying that he is a once-in-a-generation bowler. The former India bowling coach also revealed that Bumrah even remembers a boundary hit by a batter to him two years ago.
"What better than Bumrah bowling and I taking the credit? But I don't. He is a once-in-a-generation bowler. Bumrah remembers when a batter hit him for a boundary two years ago. He is very competitive and constantly wants to improve. We have to be very smart in handling and preserving him," Mhambrey said.
When asked about the reason for Bumrah's immense success, Mhambrey mentioned that the fast bowler has a clear mindset. He picks up the batter's weakness quickly and tries to exploit it.
"When I talk to him, I realise that he has a very clear mindset and knows what he is going to do. He understands when a batter is uncomfortable facing him. He then tries to exploit the situation. He will pick up small nuances to guess what the batter is trying to do," Mhambrey stated.
"Be it red ball, ODI, or T20s, he is No. 1," Mhambrey added.
As Virat Kohli stated, 'Jasprit Bumrah brought India back into the game again and again' throughout the tournament. He produced stellar performances in big games against Pakistan, Australia, England, and South Africa.
Jasprit Bumrah was exceptional in T20 World Cup 2024
His spell in the final against South Africa was particularly important as he delivered when his team needed him the most. Bumrah came in to bowl when South Africa needed 30 off 30 balls with David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen looking in great form.
But he gave away just 6 runs in two overs and also picked up a to bring India back into the game. Bumrah picked up 2-18 in 4 overs, which included the wickets of Reeza Hendricks and Marco Jansen.
Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged Player of the Tournament for his brilliant performances throughout the T20 World Cup 2024. Not only T20Is, Bumrah has performed exceptionally well in other formats as well. He is India's best bowler currently and also the spearhead of the bowling attack.
Meanwhile, Paras Mhambrey was India's bowling coach during the coaching tenure of Rahul Dravid. Dravid gave up the role of India's head coach after India's T20 World Cup 2024 win, which also meant Mhambrey's association with Team India.
