Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has created a world record during the Boxing Day Test between Australia and India in Melbourne. Bumrah has become the first-ever bowler in Test history to achieve 200 wickets at an average of less than 20.
It is a unique accomplishment for India's bowling spearhead who has been on song in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 31-year-old has carried India's inexperienced bowling attack on his shoulders and has emerged as the best bowler from either side.

Jasprit Bumrah achieved this milestone with the big wicket of Travis Head who was dismissed for just 1. Head has been in tremendous form this series but Bumrah dismissed him for a low score for the second time in a row in this match.
Jasprit Bumrah surpasses legendary bowlers
After picking up the wicket of Travis Head, Bumrah surpassed the legendary bowlers of all time like Muttiah Muralidaran, Shane WArne, Anil Kumble, Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram, and many more.
It is a huge achievement for Bumrah who is also regarded as the best bowler across formats currently. He has picked up 202 wickets in Tests so far at an average of 19.38. The 31-year-old quick has been outstanding throughout his Test career and has emerged as India's best bowler in Tests over the years across different conditions.
Jasprit Bumrah is not only a valuable asset in overseas conditions but in the Indian conditions as well. He has the skills to move the ball both ways and is also a potent weapon for reverse swing.c
Bumrah has picked up 29 wickets so far in the ongoing Test series at an excellent average of 12.34. The next best so far is Pat Cummins who has 17 wickets to his name.
Joint-second fastest Indian bowler to 200 Test wickets
In terms of the no. of matches, Bumrah is the second fastest Indian bowler to reach 200 Test wickets along side his teammate Ravindra Jadeja. Both Bumrah and Jadeja picked up their 200th Test wicket in their 44th Test match.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket after the Gabba Test, is the fastest Indian to achieve this milestone. He took 37 Tests to achieve the feat of 200 Test wickets.
Earlier, Bumrah started the day with 198 Test wickets to his name. He picked up the wicket of Sam Konstas first with a beauty. Head was his 200th Test victim but Bumrah didn't stop here. He picked up the big wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey to add two more to his tally.
