Indian assistant coach updates on Jasprit Bumrah's status

After Bumrah was dropped from the Indian playing 11 in the final Test, the Indian management had to face the immense heat of public outrage as well as the cricket pundits who marked this decision to be a massacre if Bumrah is left out only due to his workload concerns.

Indian management's representative, Ryan Ten Doeschate, has made a controversial revelation about Bumrah, currently in a critical situation since he has bowled several overs in the series so far.

The England series has tired the bowlers, as most of the games have been high scoring, and Bumrah has already played 3 games in the series. Before the onset of the series, the Indian management had given clarity over Jasprit Bumrah featuring in only 3 games.

"Quite a complex situation with Jasprit Bumrah. He has bowled a lot of overs. Like he said before the tour, he was going to play three games…" reveals Ryan ten Doeschate, as quoted by Sahil Malhotra from the press conference.

Jasprit Bumrah missed the Oval Test due to an ankle niggle

India's best bowler and currently one of the finest in the world as well, Jasprit Bumrah, missed his recent outing in the final and decisive Test of the India tour of England.

There were several questions raised over why Bumrah did not play the final Test. Is it because the Indian management considered his workload management more significant as compared to the team's winning in the crucial Test?

However, this time around, Bumrah has been reported to be nursing his ankle injury, which he probably sustained during India's fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester. The injury has kept him out, as reported by Gaurav Gupta, a senior journalist with the Times of India.

Indian batters collapse in the first innings of the decider Test

The Indian coach was criticized for not having picked Kuldeep Yadav in the final Test, as he instead decided to play with an extra batter on the side. With Rishabh Pant's exit, the team's batting order is already compromised, and the Indians could not handle another batting collapse in the big decisive Test.

Proving Gautam Gambhir's strategy right, they decided to play with 8 batters, and despite 6 early wickets on Day 1, India still survived the collapse as Karun Nair returned to score his first half-century of the series and is currently being supported by Washington Sundar.
