Jay Shah Planning To Onboard Sachin Tendulkar In BCCI In Near Future- Reports

According to the reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah is planning to onboard legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar in the BCCI in near future.

Previously BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has also hinted at the arrival of Tendulkar in the BCCI. Three out of four major names of Ganguly’s era of cricket have already established themselves in Indian cricket. Ganguly has become the BCCI president, Rahul Dravid has been appointed as Head Coach of the team and VVS Laxman has been appointed as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The only one left is the batting legend Tendulkar.

Meanwhile, the sources have told TOI that the BCCI secretary had ensured that transparency remains the key in the Board and that is the reason why the Board took two-and-half months to sign on the Letter of Intent (LOI) with one of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Ahmedabad.

“The BCCI is usually a body that ends up receiving flak in most things they do. Except, this time, they’ve taken utmost care to not just do things the right way but also to be seen as doing things the right way, It wasn’t because the BCCI did not believe in the validity of the new franchise and the bidders. Yet, BCCI secretary Jay Shah thought it was vital to clarify any and all doubts before signing on the dotted line,” sources told TOI.

Jay Shah Is Now Trying To Convince Sachin Tendulkar To Get Into Some Role In The Near Future – Reports

The TOI reports further added that Jay Shah is absolutely clear about what is “the right thing to do” and cited the appointment of Rahul Dravid as a head coach and VVS Laxman as NCA head. The sources also mentioned that the BCCI secretary is trying to convince Sachin Tendulkar “to get into some role in the near future”.

“He’s (Shah) been off the media radar but absolutely clear about what is the right thing to do. Little things that matter. For instance, appointing Rahul Dravid as head coach, ensuring someone of the stature of VVS Laxman gets associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA).”

“We’re told he’s now trying to convince Sachin Tendulkar to get into some role in the near future,” said BCCI members in the know.
