Jay Shah wins hearts with outstanding gesture for Indian journalists stuck in Barbados after T20 World Cup

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah came up with a huge heartwarming gesture for the stranded journalists in Barbados after the T20 World Cup 2024. The head of the governing body arranged a special fight for the media personnel along with the team.
India team after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 were left stranded in Barbados. This was because a massive storm was there in the Caribbean and it didn't allow the team to travel back home. All the airports and flights were halted and hence the team had to spend extra time there.
Apart from the Indian team, some of the Indian journalists were also left stranded in Barbados. While Jay Shah made sure he arranged a special flight for the team, he also ensured that along with the players, media professionals were safe as he arranged the same flight for the media personnel.
A special Air India flight landed at Barbados airport on Wednesday. The flight will be landing at New Delhi Airport on Thursday morning. Following that team will be having breakfast with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.
The development was also confirmed by the BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla. He stated that along with the team stranded media persons are also being brought back on the same flight and also revealed about plans of the team. Speaking to ANI, he explained:
"A special Air India flight was sent by the BCCI to bring the Indian Team back. In addition, stranded media persons are also being brought back on the same flight. They will reach Delhi tomorrow at 6 am. The Prime Minister has organised a reception for the team at his residence at 11 am."
A welcome event has been organised for them at Wankhede Stadium - Rajiv Shukla
Rajeev Shukla further went on to say that after the breakfast with the Prime Minister, the India Team would be moving to Mumbai, where a roadshow would be there, and after that team would be felicitated at the Wankhede Stadium. He elaborated:
"After this, they will leave for Mumbai on a special flight, where a roadshow has been organised in their honour from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium. A welcome event has been organised for them at Wankhede Stadium where the Indian Cricket Team, coaches, and support staff will be felicitated and awarded the Rs 125 crore cash prize announced by the BCCI."
Coming to the Indian team in the T20 World Cup, they were sensational all throughout the tournament. The Rohit Sharma-led remained undefeated in the tournament and became the first team to win the tournament without losing a single game.
India defeated South Africa in the final by 7 runs. They were on the verge of losing the game but bowlers made a sensational comeback to snatch the victory from the jaws of defeat. The win in the T20 World Cup 2024 also ended their 11-year title drought.
