Jaydev Unadkat Bought By SRH For 1.60 Crores In IPL Auction 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed up senior fast-bowler Jaydev Unadkat for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Having failed to live up to the expectations in the IPL in recent seasons, Jaydev Unadkat had registered himself at a base price of Rs 50 lakhs. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals started the bidding for the pacer before the former won the race for Rs 1.60 crores.
Jaydev Unadkat was one of the eight players released by Lucknow Super Giants last month. The left-arm pacer plied his trade for the Lucknow-based outfit in the last two seasons but could not really make a mark. In 2022, he played just 5 games while in 2023, he played only 3.
The out-of-favor India pacer has been struggling to live up to the expectations ever since enjoying the breakthrough season in 2017 when he picked up 24 wickets in 12 games while playing for now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant. The Saurashtra star has played 94 IPL so far and has picked up 91 wickets while having an economy rate of almost 9 runs per over.
