"Jo Imam-ul-Haq ne bola..." - Agha Salman on his text to Virat Kohli after fight with Gautam Gambhir, Naveen-ul-Haq

Pakistan cricketer Agha Salman opened up about his text to Virat Kohli after the batter fought with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He revealed how the RCB batter reacted after he got to know about the text. 

Even though one year has passed by, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq‘s fight during the IPL 2023 is still fresh in the minds of many. After the game between RCB and LSG in Lucknow, the players of both teams were engaged in a verbal spat and things were extremely serious. 

It all started during the game after both the players had a go at each other. However, things got intense after the game as both were seen to have verbal spats with each other. Players from both sides got involved and even Gautam Gambhir had a heated altercation with Virat Kohli. 

While the duo were involved in a verbal spat, Pakistan player Agha Salman tried to cool down Virat Kohli. The all-rounder at that time had sent a text to India batter on Instagram. The development was revealed by Salman’s teammate Imam-ul-Haq’s interaction on the Honest Hour Podcast. 

Imam-ul-Haq revealed that Agha Salman texted Virat Kohli to take it easy. The opening batter stated: “Kohli bhai, easy ho jao. Kya ho gaya hai? [Kohli brother, take it easy. What happened?].” 

During that podcast, Imam-ul-Haq also revealed Virat Kohli’s bond with Shadab Khan, saying that both of them are Punjabi and hence they share a good bond. He had said: 

“Virat is an extremely funny person because he is a Delhi lad and is pure Punjabi. So he mostly speaks in Punjabi. Since we’ve played a lot of cricket with India in the last two years, hence Shadab and he share a good bond.”

Agha Salman, who is the main architect of the story, was asked about the message he sent to Virat Kohli after his fight with Naveen-ul-Haq. In an interaction with his PSL team Islamabad United’s podcast, he revealed about the entire saga.

Agha Salman also revealed that during the Asia Cup 2023, Shadab Khan told Virat Kohli about the text that he did India batter. He said that when the RCB batter got to know about it, he reacted hilariously and said that he would see the text soon and post a screenshot of it. He elaborated: 

“Jab unki ladai hue the ussay Gambhir say, is tarah ka situation hogye the match ko dekh kar ki vo heated moment tha phir ahista ahista wo funny way mai janay lag gya tha, ki jo dekhne wale thena wo khud keh re the ki yaar yeh kya kr rahe hai ground mai. 

Uske baad message tha, uska jo start Hai vo Virat bhai hai. Maine Shadab ko yeh bata diya aur wo basically Shadab ne Virat ko bataya tha ki bhai isnai apko message kiya hai aisay. Virat ne kha mai abhi ja k dekhta hoon phir mai uska screenshot lekay lagaonga. Aur vo kafi mazaak way mai humne liya. Jo Imam ne bola Virat bacche… Aisa kuch nahi hai I have so much respect for him.”
