He dismissed the in-form star India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for 9 runs off 12 balls in the 21st over to reduce the visitors to 71/5.

On the fifth ball of the over, Archer bowled a stunning 89.6mph delivery from wide of the crease. The ball nipped away a bit, went past the outside edge, and sent the off-stump cartwheeling.

The England pacer was absolutely pumped after getting a colossal breakthrough for his side and was seen saying something to a dejected Pant in a fiery send-off.

When we go other places, some teams aren't as nice to us as we are to them - Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer's aggressive nature on the fifth day became a big talking point coming out of the Lord's Test as the legendary England pacer Stuart Broad questioned Archer about it.

"Today, probably the most emotional I've seen you like, the most aggressive I've seen you in a bowling spell. Was that something that you thought about last night, like, I'm going to lead this attack, bring in the heat? Or was it just when you got Pant's wicket, it sort of ignited you and you thought it was such a crucial moment of the Test match?" Stuart Broad asked during an interview on Sky Sports.

Replying to the question, Jofra Archer said that the English players are "a bit too nice" and there was a need for a shift in nature. He said:

"No, it was a collective effort, to be honest. I think we all came together as a group yesterday and said, you know, we're a bit too nice."

"When we go other places, some teams aren't as nice to us as we are to them. So I guess we just try to shift it and who knows? I don't know if that's the reason that helped us give us that extra buzz today in the field. I don't know. But we will definitely keep that one in the bank for the future."

It wasn't a proud moment, but I just tell him to charge that - Jofra Archer

Stuart Broad further specifically asked Archer about his words to Pant following the latter's dismissal, and the pacer responded that he just said Pant to charge at that delivery.

"Can you let us into this little secret? What did you whisper to Rishabh Pant as the off-dolly was rotating back towards Jamie Smith? Did you just tell him that that was angled in and nipped away at the top of off?" Stuart Broad asked.

"It wasn't a proud moment, but I just tell him to charge that. Honestly, this morning, I was struggling a little bit, the ball just kept coming out full. One of the full ones, he just charged, and it pissed me off a bit. When the [wicket] ball nipped down the slope, honestly I was so grateful for that," Archer replied.

Notably, Archer returned to the England Test team after four years and made an instant impact on the third ball of his first over by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal before celebrating wildly. While talking about this, he said:

"The first celebration was a bit emotional. It has been a long journey and I can’t tell you about the amount of keyboard warriors there have been over the past three years or so. I was going to try and not to be (too excited) but as soon as the catch was taken, that just went out of the window, the joy and the crowd. They gave me a huge lift. Every moment, it’s made all the hard work and the rehab worth it."
