England Test captain Joe Root has signaled a warning to the Indian batsman, claiming the tearaway seamer Jofra Archer is looking in pretty good rhythm ahead of the Test series.
Jofra Archer is coming off an extended break and he will be looking to make an impact in the Test series against India. Archer was rested from the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
Speaking to the media on the eve of the first Test against India in Chennai, Joe Root said that he has had the displeasure of facing Jofra Archer in the nets, where according to the English skipper, the Barbados-born bolter was bowling at the speed of light.

Archer will be looking to make use of his white-ball experience of playing in India in the Test series.
This will be Jofra Archer’s maiden red-ball series in Asia but Root believes that if the fast bowler can carry the rhythm that he has shown in the nets in the upcoming Test series, then he will enjoy great success.
“I also had the displeasure of facing Jofra in the nets and he bowled at the speed of light. He looked in great rhythm. If he can harness that into this series he’s going to have great success,” Joe Root said.
Apart from the spin duo of Dom Bess and Jack Leach, England will be banking on the express pace of Jofra Archer to make an impact with the older ball.
The first Test between India and England will kickstart at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on February 05.
