Jofra Archer Is Fit And Available For Selection, Says England Captain Eoin Morgan

England skipper Eoin Morgan has confirmed that all England players are fit and available for selection in the upcoming limited-overs series against India. England, who lost the Test series 1-3, will face India in five T20Is and 3 ODIs.

The five T20I series will be played at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad and the ODI series will be played at the MCA stadium in Pune. The first T20I of the series will be played on March 12 and will see the crowd in the stadium, like in the last two Test matches.

Meanwhile, England was sweating over the fitness of their star pacer Jofra Archer, who missed the fourth Test due to a recurring elbow problem. He has had that problem for a long time and recently had a reoccurrence of the same during the Test series in India. It was reported that Archer may be rested to manage his workload.

There were concerns surrounding the fitness of pacer Jofra Archer but Morgan has confirmed that the bowler is available. Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler have returned from the UK after their respective break as per England’s player rotation policy and will be available for the whole white-ball series.

“Everybody is fit to play. Jofra is available for the series opener,” Morgan said during a virtual press conference.

England has its full-strength squad for the white-ball series in India and the visitors would be looking to field the strongest XI possible. The side is already ranked number one and it is for the reason that Morgan has never dithered in playing specialists in the shortest format.

India is the second-ranked team in the T20Is, but they would have to contend with an England batting lineup of Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan, Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, Ben Stokes, and Jos Buttler. As for the bowlers, England has Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, and Chris Jordan.

The first T20I will begin from 7.00 PM IST and will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium with a 50% crowd in attendance. The other four T20Is will be played on March 14, 16, 18, and 20.
