England speedster Jofra Archer wasn’t considered for the ongoing final Test against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad due to his persistent right elbow issues, the ECB said in a press release on Thursday.
England have gone with just one frontline seamer in James Anderson for the fourth and final Test with all-rounder Ben Stokes serving as his new-ball partner.

Archer, who played the pink-ball Test, has also missed the second game in Chennai due to the same issue.
“Jofra Archer is not playing in this Test match due to his ongoing right elbow issue. The ECB medical team will provide an update in due course,” the England cricket board said in a press release on Thursday.
The ECB also added that all-rounder Ben Stokes and several other members of the touring party are suffering from a stomach bug but it is unlikely to keep the Durham cricketer off the field.
“Ben Stokes has had an upset stomach, the same issue that has affected other members of the touring party. It is not expected to keep him off the field” the statement added.
England were eventually bowled out of 205 in their first innings and in response, India finished the day at 1/24 in 13 overs.
