Jos Buttler OUT of IPL 2025? Gujarat Titans stings rest IPL teams with players' availability update

Gujarat Titans received a huge boost before the resumption of IPL 2025 as their two match-winners, Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee, will return to India and join the Gujarat squad on May 14.
The IPL 2025 will resume on May 17, and before that, two main players of Gujarat, Buttler and Coetzee, will rejoin the group in Delhi before the IPL 2025 playoffs.
Jos Buttler’s role in Gujarat Titans’ success in IPL 2025
The top 3 in the batting unit are the key to Gujarat Titans’ major success in the IPL 2025. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan were playing exceptionally, and their aggressive approach was also helping them.
At number 3, the experienced Jos Buttler was supporting the team. In almost every match, two out of these three were playing till death overs and helping Gujarat to chase the target easily or to post a big score in the first innings.
How many overseas players will join Gujarat Titans squad before IPL 2025 resumption?
Gujarat Titans have only six overseas players in their squad, and out of these six, Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Karim Janat, and Sherfane Rutherford stayed in India after the IPL was suspended due to security concerns.
Two players left the squad after the suspension, and those were Jos Buttler and Coetzee, and now both will return on May 14 before the resumption of IPL 2025.
Gujarat will start their campaign with the full strength of overseas players, but Rutherford has been named in the West Indies ODI squad against England, which will commence from May 29, and he might miss the IPL playoffs.
England has announced the ODI squad yet for the series. Jos Buttler has been named in the ODI squad but with ECB's commitment to BCCI, Buttler might be available for Gujarat till the time, the team stays in contention.
Gujarat Titans IPL 2025 remaining matches
Gujarat are currently holding the top position in the IPL points table with 16 points in 11 matches. They have three league matches left and have almost confirmed their place in the playoffs.
They will play their first match after resumption against Delhi Capitals in Delhi on May 18, and after that, they will be playing their last two league games in their home ground against Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings.
The IPL released the remaining matches schedule, and only 13 league stage games will be played in six venues. The dates of the playoffs are also revealed as the first Qualifier will be on May 29, followed by the Eliminator on May 30, and then Qualifier 2 on June 1, and lastly, the final is on June 3.
