Team India is all set to start their tour in England from today through the first of the 5-match T20I series in Birmingham. As the Men in Blue will play 5 T20Is against England, cricket fans from every corner of the globe are hopeful to see the 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi making his debut in the format for the national cricket team.

Ahead of the first match of the series, England cricket star Jos Buttler issued a stern warning to the England National Cricket Team. The experienced keeper-batter suggested his compatriots be extra cautious if they face Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the series.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the limelight in IPL 2026

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is arguably the best hitter in the modern generation of cricket. The way he took on the world-class bowlers for maximums in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League was something that can be called out of this world.

Before receiving his first-ever call-up for the senior Indian cricket team, the Rajasthan Royals prodigy claimed the Orange Cap for scoring the most amount of runs in the IPL 2026 season. The southpaw registered 776 runs with one century and five half-centuries in the season.

Vaibhav became the fastest batter in history to reach 1,000 IPL runs in terms of balls faced. He needed only 440 balls to claim the record. In the campaign, the Bihar-born smashed the bowlers for 63 fours and 72 sixes. He broke Abhishek Sharma’s record as well to achieve the record for smashing the most sixes in a single IPL season. During the course, his strike rate was astronomical: 237.31.

While talking with the former England pacer Stuart Broad in a podcast, Buttler said that there are a fair number of chances to see Vaibhav Sooryavanshi batting against India at some point in the 5-match T20I contest. The keeper-batter predicted that the young opener might look to open his international account with a six.

Because of his ultra-aggressive batting nature, Buttler asked the cricketers to come up with a proper plan. Josh Buttler mentioned the way the emerging Indian batter took on Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazelwood in the pocket caused an automatic threat to any bowler on the planet.

“Now I'm sure he might get his chance; there are five games, so he might get his chance. I did- we had dinner tonight, and I said, if he does play, just know if you're bowling to him, he will try and hit your first ball for six,” Jos Buttler told Stuart Broad in the podcast.

“I think that is a given so make sure we're ready for it and have a think what delivery you want to bowl because I think he'll, he'd like that stat of hitting his first ball in international cricket for six and he's got obviously who've we talked about before he's got Bumrah, Cummins, Hazelwood in his pocket,” the star keeper-batter added further in his statement.
